What women & families are saying

Katie was incredibly supportive throughout a lengthy labour. She always knew just the right thing to say or do to encourage us, whether it was a hug, a kind word, a snack or a massage. We couldn't have gotten through it without her! Thank you, Katie, for being part of one of the most important events of our lives.

Katie provided much needed support for both my husband and I during the birth of our daughter. Her experience was evident through her care and guidance. Katie kept me focused when the contractions came on strong and my energy was low. She kept me thinking strong and positive both during the birth and with post-partum care such as breastfeeding challenges, and my mood and confidence following the birth. Katie's positive energy and caring nature helped give us the birth and post-partum care we hoped for and more.
Thanks Katie!

For anyone considering Katie as their doula - let me tell you my story and let you decide for yourself. I knew nothing about birth and babies before I met Katie. She was a fount of useful information that left me feeling both knowledgeable and empowered. Our personalities just clicked - I felt so comfortable with her. I had planned for a natural birth, with Katie and my husband by my side. Then, when I was 24 weeks and 1 day into my pregnancy, I began having tightenings in my back and, shortly thereafter, I started to bleed. Katie was there in an instant. She accompanied me to the hospital and stayed with me in triage where I was examined and told that my membranes had broken and that my son was coming in the next day or two. The OB on call told me that Gage had 50% chance of living.

Katie was there when I received that terrible news - she never left my side. Katie has supported me through the ugliest and most precious moments of my life. We've had impromptu midnight meetings at a 24 hour Tim Horton's when it was all just too much to bear and I needed to talk or cry; she shared in my joy when my son finally had his breathing tube removed and was put on an oxygen mask. The relationship didn't just end with my son's birth - she's become a wonderful addition to our family tree.

Katie is so passionate about birth and babies and has a very positive energy about her. It was a pleasure to have Katie as a birthing attendant at the homebirth of my third child and I would recommend her to anyone.
